The necessity to live a healthy and carefree life includes not only oxygen but a balance in our relationships and one becomes mentally retarded when he/she is subjected to indescribable struggles in their relationships.

Cases like domestic violence, acid attacks, forced marriages, and many others were usually considered the talks of small towns but even in the 21st Century, we haven’t surpassed that stage and are still stuck in the era of the Stone Age where all these matters are hyped up for some time and then silenced without any solution.

In this article, we will highlight the issue of conflicts in marriages and their effects on mental health.

Today, many marriages are struggling because of issues like blaming, judgments, unfairness, lack of acknowledgment, and many others. Many partners need more time to be ready to accept their fellow partners and welcome the uprising downfall of conflict in the future. A wave of lack of understanding, appreciation, better communication, and cooperative behavior befalls them, leading to destructive criticism for both parties.

Getting into a relationship can be the easiest thing to do but it takes effort to prove yourself as the right person to your loved one. It takes both partners a lot of patience, courage, and trust to make something work. People in modern marriages have long forgotten the Prophetic advice of tolerating, forgiving, and having patience for the sustainability of this pious relationship.

Importance of Addressing Conflicts

Conflicts in marriages can’t be resolved until or unless both spouses address the issues and resolve them in a friendly manner. Marriage is never easy. It has never been easy, and one way of resolution never works for another.

People of all kinds and races face difficulties trying to keep up with their fellow partners at some point in their lives. The main struggle is to stand by all those issues and devise ways to resolve them. People fight over minimalistic things that don’t even matter or require attention and those fights can be resolved with insightful behavior by both ends which will lead to a sustained relationship and ease off their minds regarding confusions.

Seeking Guidance In Difficulties

One can always take elders’ advice while experiencing plights that can’t be resolved, and having issues in your married life shouldn’t be considered taboo because conflicts, plights, and differences are a part of every marital relationship.

Men and women engage in fights because they find it impossible to overcome differences and this keeps on adding to their frustration. They don’t consider that every relationship has ups and downs. They get hyped up about the struggles they have been facing instead of finding a solution.

Role Of Spirituality In Marriages

In religion, we are always advised to do whatever it takes to resolve our issues before matters get worse because this is the most pious form of relationship.

Beauty lies in recognizing the issues and keeping the spark alive no matter what because sustainability demands effort, energy, and insightful behavior despite all the anger, frustration, and differences as the relationship progresses.

Challenges & Solutions In Muslim Marriages

Hardships in marriage are the hardest pill to swallow, but if left untreated they can be the cause of a broken marriage.

People nowadays are constantly fighting over finance, in-laws, children, society, cultural differences, and spiritual differences. Spirituality has been missing in Muslim marriages for a long as people were busy fighting over petite issues that could’ve been resolved with mutual discussions. Many people are suffering due to a lack of spiritualism in their spouses and this has affected their relationship like a trauma. Everything aside, our priority must be Allah. If we are failing at making and maintaining a bond with Him then we are nowhere in our lives.

The Quranic Guidance:

In the Holy Qur’an, Allah says:

وَّ  خَلَقۡنٰکُمۡ   اَزۡوَاجًا [78.8]

“And we created you in pairs”

It demonstrates that we are exactly with whom we need to be. We have to make the effort and overcome our discrepancies altogether to make it right. We have to realize the fact that; this life is a test, and everybody is tested according to their level of faith in all phases of life. We just have to be patient enough to grow and learn through this journey.

Conclusion:

Our religion guides us to strive hard for the sustainability of marriage and tells us to tenaciously face the challenges of this journey until or unless we are subjected to unbearable circumstances. One should never compromise on extramarital affairs and abuse of any kind whether it be verbal, physical, substance, or emotional. Finding ways to be together can lead to a great future, but not when the relationship requires sacrificing yourself in the name of suffering.
